Safeclean 4
Hot Melt Tank Cleaner and Purge

Safeclean 4 is a high viscosity cleaning fluid formulated for use on all pump and vertically fed hot melt equipment. It softens all hot melt adhesives, reducing the viscosity and loosening decomposed charred material.

Benefits

Safeclean 4 is a unique formulation which enables the product to be pumped vertically to quickly breakdown hot melt residues within hoses, tanks and applicator rollers. It will reduce pressure on pumps and eliminate hose constrictions.

Safe to Use

Safeclean 4 is a mineral oil free hot melt purging liquid developed for use within the food packaging industries

Easy to Use

Apply Safeclean 4 direct into the melt tank and circulate through the system at 100-120°C. To achieve best results Safeclean 4 should be re-circulated for as long as possible in order to thoroughly clear the system of all loosened debris.

Hot Melt Tank Cleaner - User Guide:

Safeclean 4

Before attempting to clean any hot applicator, you should refer to the Safety Procedure issued by the equipment manufacturer. Hot melt adhesives and hot cleaning materials can give severe burns. You should ensure that you use the appropriate protection equipment. (Please refer to the Safeclean 4 Health & Safety Data Sheet).

Tank Cleaning

Drain system of existing hot melt.
Reduce pump pressure to zero.
Fill tank with Safeclean 4 and heat to 100°C - 120°C, allow to stand for 1 hour.
Agitate walls of tank & flush out through drain valve. (Try to avoid putting dirt of tank through hoses).

Hose Cleaning

For jetting systems, if possible, circulate the cleaner by placing the hose (remove gun) over the open tank for up to 2 hours. If not possible to circulate, leave cleaner in hoses for 3 hours and then purge through the open hose at minimal pressure.

For wheel and dauber applicators fill the pots with cleaner and idle the machine to agitate the cleaner.

For pre-melters, simply leave to soak. Drain the system and refill with fresh hot melt (1/3 of the tank capacity) and heat to between 120°C and 140°C. Drain again to eliminate any un-dissolved material and residual cleaner. (Ensure ALL Cleaner has been flushed from system, before recommencing normal operation.)

Refill with hot melt and return the temperatures to the adhesive application temperature before production begins.
